Questions to Ask Yourself Before Volunteering
Do I have enough time to volunteer?
Think about family/work commitments/your own health.
Do I have the support from friends/family?
Although not necessary, having outside support can be beneficial. It is always helpful to be able to discuss ideas with family and friends and have their encouragement and help.
Can I handle the emotional demands of volunteering?
Some roles with FUSHIA can be emotionally demanding due to the nature of the community work we are involved with, but it can also be very rewarding.
Do I really understand what I'm getting into?
It requires time and effort and carries a certain amount of responsibility and at times can be frustrating. As this is very dependant on the individual and the volunteering role you are interested in please feel free to ask any questions you feel are relevant when you get in touch with us. We deal with every enquiry with strict confidentiality.
